AREA EVENTS

Mid-County Seniors

The Mid-County Seniors met on Tuesday, October 6th at St. Agnes Parish Hall Amberg welcoming 3 new members.  Serving on the refreshment committee was Len Jarosz, Betty Flaws, Marie Motiff and Joan Robinson.  The group enjoyed a spirited game of “take-away” Bingo along with the regular card and board games.

Plans were made for a Christmas Party on December 1st .  The time is changed to 12 noon with a Pot Luck Luncheon.  Bring a dish to pass as well as items for the Amberg-Wausaukee Food Pantry.

The next meeting will be on Tuesday, November 3rd at 12:30 pm at St. Agnes Hall.  Regular card and board games will be played along with a beginners table of “Hand and Foot”.   Written instructions and “coaches” will be provided to those who have never played this game.  Poker players are still needed.  Serving on the November Refreshment Committee are LeRoy Jungbluth, Rosie Smiley and Jan Sweeting.  A $1.00 donation is appreciated for beverage and paper products, etc.  EVERYONE WELCOME!

Diocese of Green Bay—details offered for liturgical celebrations during flu season

1.     If you are ill you should refrain from attending daily or Sunday Mass.  Mass is broadcasted at 5:30 a.m. Sundays on WBAY TV (ABC or EWTN (cable).

2.    Make a practice to wash hands often.

3.    DO NOT shake hand during the sign of peace.  Nod and say “The peace of Christ be with you” or “Peace be with you.”

4.    Extraordinary ministers of Communion should always use an antiseptic hand sanitizer before distributing communion.   Avoid touching one’s mouth or nose after using the sanitizer.

5.    We will not be drinking from the cup during the flu season.

6.    Get plenty of rest, eat a nutritious diet, and get regular exercise to minimize the risks of contracting the flu.
